Richard J. Fleder is the President of T&H Brokers. Since 1996, Richard has served as President and CEO of T&H Benefits. After leading that organization to monumental growth, he was named President of T&H Brokers in October of 2009.
Richard began hiscareer in 1975 at T&H Brokers (Tanenbaum-Harber) whichwould become the present day T&H Benefits. In 1980, he was named Executive Vice President of T&H, responsible for their employee benefits division and formed T&H Benefits in 1996.
Before leading T&H Benefits, Richard helped found Comprehensive Benefits Service Company (”CBSC”) a third party claims administrator in 1986. He was named president of CBSC in 1986. While helping CBSC achieve this success, he continued to run the benefits operation of T&H Brokers. In 1986, CBSC was sold to Employee Benefits Plans, Inc. (”EBP”), the largest third party administrator in the country. EBP was based in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. In 1992, Richard became president of the largest health plan of EBP. In 1996, EBP was sold to First Data Corporation. He declined an offer to remain with the new company, and opted to form Thesco Benefits (now T&H Benefits).
Richard graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in 1976. Shortly thereafter, he received the CLU designation from the American College of Insurance. Richard was a member of the HMO Board of Directors of Oxford Health Plans. He was the sole member of the brokerage and consulting community to sit on this Board. He has been a member of the National Advisory Council of Aetna, CIGNA, HealthNet and UnitedHealthcare.
