Richard J. Fleder is the President of T&H Benefits. After leading that organization to monumental growth, he was also named President of T&H Brokers in October of 2009.
Richard began his career in 1975 at Tanenbaum-Harber which would become the present day T&H Benefits. In 1980, he was named Executive Vice President of T&H, responsible for their employee benefits division and formed T&H Benefits in 1996.
Before leading T&H Benefits, Richard helped found Comprehensive Benefits Service Company (”CBSC”) a third party claims administrator in 1986. He was named president of CBSC in 1986. While helping CBSC achieve this success, he continued to run the benefits operation of T&H. In 1986, CBSC was sold to Employee Benefits Plans, Inc. (”EBP”), the largest third party administrator in the country. In 1992, Richard became president of the largest health plan of EBP. In 1996, EBP was sold to First Data Corporation. He declined an offer to remain with the new company, and opted to form Thesco Benefits (now T&H Benefits).
Richard graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in 1976. Shortly thereafter, he received the CLU designation from the American College of Insurance. Richard was a member of the HMO Board of Directors of Oxford Health Plans. He was the sole member of the brokerage and consulting community to sit on this Board. He has been a member of the National Advisory Councils of Aetna, CIGNA, HealthNet and UnitedHealthcare.
